The owl

I can be a bit superstitious at times, seems a little funny, but there's some truth in superstitions and myths.
I've always had a love for owls. They're beautiful birds and, like most animals, have spiritual meanings associated with them. The owl has always been a messenger between this world and the next. Sometimes the messages they bring are good and sometimes they're not so good.
A couple of years ago, there was an eastern screech owl, which is one of the small species of owl, that showed up in my yard. The first time he came he was sitting on my husband's car. A couple of weeks later he was at my back window. Well, after his first sighting there was a death of a friend. After his second appearance there was a fire here on my property. Luckily only the trees and some acrage was damaged.
Well, tonight, as I was taking one of my dogs out, a barred owl, pictured above, was sitting atop my RV. He took flight only to land in a near by tree on a low branch. He sat there and watched as I acknowledged him and subsequently fussed him for being here. I kept my flashlight on him until he took flight again only to land in another tree further in the tree line. Where he could watch me watching him. His appearance tonight seems to have rattled me a little tonight. I can only hope that his message for tonight is a positive one and that he's here to watch over me and the family.
What a fascinating read! I hope the owl brings many blessings.
